Default Help, Wheel Spin at 80 MPH?

I have a 2008 Z and it has a new clutch and flywheel, about 1200 Miles on them. They are both OEM, as it was a warranty issue.

In 4th gear and around 60-80 MPH, and pretty much full throttle, sometimes my slip light will turn on, and the car will jerk back and forth for about a second while the TCS is taking over, and then it stops. I happens pretty quick, but it might be because i let off on the gas a bit when it happens. It has happened multiple times, but doesn't happen all the time. Also it only happens in 4th gear, and between 60-80 (I forget the RPM). Any ideas on what's going on?

Maybe incorrect tire sizing. What sizes are your front and rear tires?

yea, try to keep your tires height within stock sizing as our vdc/tcs is very sensitive to that.

I don't have the OEM rear tires, but they were the same size as the OEM rears that come on the 08 nismos

A slipping clutch would prob do that also. Do the RPMs jump before the tcs goes apeshit?

slipping at 80 on oem tire sizes and no boost..........HR aint that powerful.

Would a slipping clutch do that? All four wheels have speed sensors and the ecu would only see the engine revving but all 4 wheels still going the same speed.

I'm with terrasmak...what size on your fronts?

I believe if the size difference is too much more than OEM it will cause the VDC/TCS to come on at certain speeds.

Are you sure it only happens in 4th gear? I would think the gear wouldn't matter if this is the case.

Not sure.

The car doesn't care about rim size it cares about the outside diameter of the tires. I bet you got 245/35-20 fronts and 275/30-20 rears.

If its cold as hell out the TCS may think the car will spin from sudden WOT, and then delay you some.

No big deal, just turn it off, or ease into WOT. You cant spin 4th gear at 80mph in most boosted Z's let alone an NA Z lol

Use this link to determine the size difference between your front and rear tires, post the results and we'll be able to tell you the problem I bet.

I still have the stock tires on the front. It only happens in 4th gear. Well the TCS will turn on if I'm in a low gear and gun it, but that's because the wheels actually break loose. I was just wondering why this happened at 4th gear and around that speed. It could be bumps in the road i suppose.
