Default OS Giken Gear Set

So in this months issue of Super Street they mention OS Giken has released a close ratio gear set for our gearbox. I've seen a bit about it around the forum but this seem like an official realease.

Any vendors have more info on it?

Price, gear ratios, is it a direct swap from the factory gear set, any special modifications that might be needed, is it a gearbox that could be used regularly or is it purely for the track?

That's an interesting choice of gear ratios. The OEM box has closer ratios than the supposed "close ratio box" from OS.

Do you know why they would have chosen the longer gears?

I suppose for the big power FI guys it makes the lower gears more useable.

Last time we spoke to O.S. we were told that it has an estimated power capacity of 700-1000hp depending on usage and related components. However, they also mentioned that it was designed for circuit competition on an NA platform.

Come to think of it it does actually make good sense. What they've done is make 1st a really long gear, and then just bunched the rest of them closer to each other.

I think HR tranny will fit fine as CD009(later model transmission) fits 03Z without any problem.

Sorry for digging up an old thread while searching.

Does anyone know whether the CD009 has the same gear ratios as the unit from a stock 03' 6MT Z33?

All 03 to 06 MT trans have the same ratio. Would love to get the OS gear set, 1st may actually be a usable gear with it.
