This flywheel requires a 7.25" clutch.
The street clutch in my car now and the racing ./ rally clutch, the only different is the pressure plate. This clutch is still with 2 cerametallic disk's and is NOT sprung.

Only difference is the pressure plate,
It all looks exactly the same though...

that sounds sick!!! is there going to be a even more streetable clutch coming that will work with that flywheel? if so i am interested in getting the flywheel and streetable clutch in the future. By the way? How much does it cost to get both of these things installed?

THis is not streetable to the majority of the people.
On my second day, i got the hang of it starting, and oh my! driving with it! is a truely increadable experience...
Next to come are some sprung disk's made of organic materials...
currently they are cerametallic disks unsprung.

Don't change the pressure plate. Just change the discs.
What's the sense in changing the pressure plate when you still use the unsprung discs? That's no street clutch!

WakaZ - Darn! Well hopefully be seeing you some time after x-mas!
zillinois - if you are not going to be driving the car in daily traffic and only on the track THIS kit is for you! Driving in the city I have gotten used to it, its a little bumpy but I can deal with it because of how nice it is at WOT
sakred - Not 100% sure about life expectancy of this yet, I have close to 800 miles on it already driving it as hard as I can in the city and on the freeway. This flywheel / Clutch is in our race teams car. Ill find out if they are still using the original one they put in when they started.

Hey Jeff,
I dont remember excactly, but what did they guys at tliton tell you about your clutch when you had it in?
I think it was something along the lines of it being able to take quite the beating.

2500+ miles on the Tilton.
So I have just finished putting a little over 2500 Miles on the Tilton Flywheel and 008 Tranny.
Flywheel & Clutch - HOLLY **()@#^&%()*@&#)$*&()!@#*%(!#&%)*^!!!!!! Driving this thing is INCREDIBLE! The Z feels like its turbo charged, The rear end slams down to the ground, definite torque increase and SCREAMS up the rev-limiter before I can even think about shifting.. I have gotten good at it now, but some times in the early morning when launching on to the freeway I nail the rev limiter in 2nd gear, not even flooring the thing!
The flywheel reacts so fast to throttle changes I can shift as fast as I can move my foot and arm. You know what a formula 1 car sounds like on the in cabin view, how quick they shift. Well, thats what the Z shifts like with this fly wheel (if your hand / foot is fast enough).
This clutch loves to be sidestepped. Even if you didn't side step this thing it engages so quickly 3/4's of the clutch pedal move meant is useless.
3rd gear climbs as fast as a stock Z's 1st gear. 100+ Mph is reached before you realize you could go to jail for triple digit speeds!
Traffic - traffic has gotten a lot better to handle now.. As long as I am rolling slightly forward I can get into 1st gear smoothly, when I say slightly I mean an inch per second. So if you are behind a Z that when the light turns green, lets off the brake and rolls slightly forward then guns it ... thats me...
When starting from a complete stop it has gotten much easier now... I know exactly where the clutch locks on to this flywheel and can now start smooth.. I can go without stalling out now...
Now the bad part.
Hills... I found my self taking the LONG way to some things now... If the car goes to roll slightly back, like a foot per second, the car will stall out very easily since there is no virtually no inertia held in the 8lb flywheel, with the drive train spinning in revers the car stalls out if you pull the clutch up slightly. So, As hard as it is for me too do and how much I hate doing it, I need to rev it up to 3,000 rpm and just let it go. Some times loosing grip of my KDW 275/40/18's...
Overall.. It is an absolutely amazing driving experience. It is like a completely different car. The car just scream's.. It feels like the engine is barely working to achieve the speeds I take it too. No restrictions...
Next for me, Crank Pulley, and suspension work. Then headers when I can afford them..
Wow, is all I can say about the flywheel. I will do a new video clip soon of a launch to 100+ MPH. Ive only been in rush hour lately, but I think I found a new little place to do some runs
