No flames appreciated.
OK...this is my 1st 6 speed and I have found myself..where hammering it from a standstill....shifting into 5th from 2nd
....missing third of course. I'm at 7K rpm and all of a sudden it bogs big time so I'm pretty sure I missed a shift.
Is this fairly common, or am I a KLUTZ

First, do not slam shift the car. Nice smooth and easy shift is what you need. The only time i screw up the shift into 3rd from 2nd is when i try do it fast. Really no need to do it fast.

With my stock clutch I found it liked 50-70% throw and it would slide smoothly - if I gave it full clutch throw it would always clunk on fast shifts. Coming from a bunch of high rev hondas I was used to full clutch throw on full throttle shifts - the Z is NOT like that at all.
Play with your seat a little so your clutch throws are suited to your natural leg movement and youll find the sweet spot of clutch throw/gear release speed....I hated 2nd gear in this car until I found that sweet spot and since then it was just feeling my way into 2nd with proper clutch throw....at least on my revup....I understand the HR boys have various clutch issues so it might be different
My JIM Wolf clutch/fly is slightly different and I am just now really getting a good feel for it on shifts again - more towards the 80-90% range so I am giving it a little more throw than stock to get the gear to release smoothly but the harder I kick the faster it shifts so I am all
Still need to find a way to get rid of the rev hang

shift hard lyke this and it will work out. gotta put your body into it

Used to happen to me as well!
What I did to fix it is when you shift out of second take your hand off the stick for a second let it rest in neutral then push straight up cuz it sits naturally between 3 and 4th
Hope it helps!

I'll have to try that...sounds like almost a double clutch.
Or...... practice>stop redlining like a retard = and your Z will thank you....I have missed 4 shifts in 4 years of owning the car, and 2 of those were on the track.
BE NICE TO YOUR CAR
Just sayin

- just more of a left leg workout....might be the 14lb flywheel too
Also, it's the pressure plate, not the flywheel.
This only works for the stock dual-mass (27lbs) flywheel. Lightweight flywheels = less inertia = faster rev drops = not enough time to let your shifter to be in neutral

Easy there my man...redline shifts are not *the rule* with me...besides, *redline* for me is right around 7300ish. You don't think the car can handle that??
