Default 350z Stock at Dyno.

Hey guys!

I typically don't post that much as you can see, but I tend to read the forum 3 to 4 times a week to learn from all of you. Because of that, Thanks for teaching me everything for my (ours) car.

I have a 2007 Z since February 4, 2007 and only has 19,400 miles on it. Yep, I try to take care and not put that many miles on my Z, but when I drive it, Amen, e=mc^2! Lol.

I want to share a video that I took a month ago were I did for the 1st time a Dyno Run on the Z. The car is not modded, yet. The only mod is the 2 K&N filters.
The numbers that I got were 269.4 Rwhp, stock. I believe they are too high for the Z being stock, compared to other runs (numbers) I've had read in here.

Someone similar to those numbers with an HR?

What brand of dyno? They all read different. And if you do mod her, then use the same dyno for exact comparison.

you have to take into account for which dyno it was on. but 269 is not too far off.

Is there a noticable soind difference between the stock filters and the k&ns? Does it produce any of that whistling sound you get with short rams by chance? Im guessing not but you never know......

It's within ~10whp of what an HR typically does on a dynojet. And davidv's post is hilariously spot on, lol.

Nah, well it was on a DynoJet. and the outside temp was 82F; also, the Z was cold since I waited at least 2 hours for the Run.

Actually, it sound just very very little bit of more aggressive than the stock filters, but no way near to a Z with CAI.

Using K&N, for me, is like having your car like very stock. No difference that I could tell, but that is my personal opinion.

What correction factor was used? Actual, SAE, STD. etc....

Its on par, no worries. LOL-David is right on.

My filters do create a whistling sound. Its not anywhere near CAI or a ram intake.

Let us know when you put some mods on. Would like to see your results since I never had a dyno when mine was stock.

Boom you got me there on the correction factor but regarding the gear, it was on 4th gear.

I am planning on getting the Nismo exhaust most likely for the sound. I still want to retain that stock sound but kind of a more aggresive. Not looking for big numbers (yeah right....) but to still have more aspirated power.

Make sure any followup dynos are also in 4th. Most will tell you it should have been done in 5th, as that is the 1:1 gear, but the most important thing is to keep it consistent.

Good to know!

Apparently the 1:1 ratio it is something that has variations according to some tunners. I was told that for the Z the 4th gear was the 1:1 ratio.
Maybe that is something that changes depending of the car that you are tuning?
