Gear swap? or Kinetix ssv2 plenum?
Hey guys, Im having a bit of a problem trying to decide which mod I should go with. I was looking to get a kinetix ssv2 plenum, but a couple of buddies told me to do a rear diff gear swap. The 4.08 ring and pinion, any suggestions which would be the better investment for the money? Both are around a little less than 800.00 bucks.
Thanks!
Thanks!

any proff of this that your stating? or is this the whole well i heard from a member who heard from a guy who once said something at a car show while ********ting with his friend?
blue line is with a plenum spacer and red line is with the kinetix manifold
this^^^^^^ is from john at z1 post a whole back
looks to me like the kinetix makes more power.
BUT even with that stated gears would be a better choice and will make the car feel alot faster then with a diffrent plenum so i would go with gears

Depends on how much work you want to do. The gears aren't just a "swap"; they require you to ensure the spacing/backlash/etc. is set correctly. Also, while you're in there you'll want to swap the diff itself because you won't want to get back in there, lol.

Yeah sidewayz I know its a grip of work, I did a gear swap in my mud truck. Only thing that I think about the gear swap is my mpg. I don't want it to have **** mileage. And I know you cant have both mpg and HP. Just curious if anyone who has the gear swap could give there two sense on it.

I would have to disagree to an extint. On the DE motor unless you have tiny tires you have to shift right before the finish line in a 1/4 mile and doing gears would let you get into fourth sooner and should let you get more mph because you get to make it into the power in fourth rather than shifting and being low in the rpm's for that gear.
But like you said it won't make the car "faster" as in more hp is true

That graph was a rev-up, they seem to make even better gains than a regular DE. What year is your Z?
Not only have we seen back to back power increases but it weighs ~21lbs less than the stock configuration and due to it being stainless steel it doesn't heat soak like the OE.
