The Death of a Built VQ35TT.....in pics
Greddy turbos with what looks like an APS intercooler??
Either way, its a sight I'm all to familiar with
Every time I have seen material in the pan like that (5 times) the whole setup was trash. The small pieces of metal get under the cam caps and wreck the heads and cams, into the turbos and jack them up, and score the cylinder walls as well as cause massive damage on the crank and block where the main bearings are. I hope you fare better than I have. I have 3 blocks in my shed, 2 sets of heads, 3 sets of cams and more VQ parts that I can count.
Welcome to the darkside and hopefully your LS conversion goes smoothly. May you continue to help blaze the trail for others that I'm sure will follow in our footsteps if it can be proven that the LS is a solid platform to make reliable power in a Z/G.

HaH I'll show you metal shavings in the oil pan ... 2 spun mains , block is done, I knew it was shot so I drove as far as I could so the tow would be cheaper, 35miles on the highway to be exact. But I feel your pain

Holy chit Konrad that's insane.
Fotunately my block made it out alive.
But yeah Cass, I don't care what it takes, I'm going to get the Z to be exactly what I want with the LQ9 engine. Can't wait for it to be done, but it's going to be a while. Doing it right
