The twins, shortly before they are sent for reconditioning:

It was a combination of things, a couple bearings spun for sure, and I was adding a quart of oil a day during the last week. Unfortunately the shop couldn't get the car in when they were supposed to, and more damage was done in the days beetween then and when I actually was able to get the car to the shop.

Why are you reconditioning the snails?

To sell the TT kit or are you planning on trying to use them?

Correct- to sell the kit. I will likely use a Precision Turbo .76 bb on the LQ setup.

Nope. I deserved what I got. Monitoring will therefore be a large focus on the new build and maintenance.

Uggg that stinks man. Sorry to hear but can't wait to see the new setup.
A side note (newb *** question) When you guys say spun a bearing, which bearing/bearings are you referring to and what would cause this?

Usually a rod bearing if you spun would cause low oil pressure; but to burn a quart every day and be all over the place like that would have to be a bad rear or front main seal; maybe a improper line hone; or it could be bad rings i.e. someone lined all the gaps up in a row i have seen that many times causing oil starvation. but this looks like a couple of things, also looks like the bearing were put in dirty on the crank lots of scoring

sucks your car died but i'm curious why you kept driving it if it had a problem? I would have just parked it and waited for the shop to be free.

To be more detailed: The same shop was supposed to be finished with my other car, G37, on Saturday. My Z was supposed to go in Saturday. 'Nothing' seemed wrong at that point. Well, I got a call at 6pm Friday saying my G would not be done until Tuesday. Tuesday, on the way to the shop, I heard the noise for the first time.

Basically.

This is why I'm going with a LQ9 fully built, boosting about 800-900 rwhp daily.

Thanks, midz350
