Default clutch is this possible???

Ok I'm just wondering if this is sign clutch is going. If I'm on the highway in any gear let's say sixth and I punch it the rpms will jump about 200 back down and then it will acelelerate, this all happens within a second. So my question is do you think this is clutch slipping even thow I'm not shifting? This only happens when I hit the gas hard. BTW its a 06 manual. Car only had 40500 miles

Sounds exactly like a slipping clutch.

The clutch disc is not holding the flywheel. See: http://www.howstuffworks.com/clutch.htm

I recommend that you buy the entire clutch assembly. Many come with an alignment tool. If not no big deal. A transmission shop will have an assortment of tools on hand.

Just FYI... Mine lasted about 2 weeks (had some issues getting parts) after I first experienced what you described above until the car wouldn't accelerate at all.

- once it starts slipping it will just quit all together eventually. The JWT clutches have real stock feel and hold power too.

What I did i sreplace the stock disk with a cheap 6 puck sprung disk I got of ebay, feels like stock with a little less slipp and holds my 457whp\447ft\lbs without anny issues.
Cheap and strong enough for most of us
