Default 05 rev up upgrade

Hi All

I have an 05 anniversary edition and looking to do some upgrades to the motor. I've done a bunch of research and just not sure of the best bang for the buck without giving up reliability. I have 8500.00 to put into this motor I know it's not enough for TT by along shot or even SC really. Does anyone know how much HP I can get if I go for a Mrev2, headers, hi flow cats and dual exhaust with a flash of course. Would I get 75 HP out of it or do I just keep saving for the TT. I haven't dyno'd the car yet but... I'm guessing it would be about 250 rwhp. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

From intake to exhaust:

-Install JWT popcharger $90
-Install JWT valve spring and shim kit $100
-Install JWT C8R cams $1000
-Install Nismo headers $650
-Install Motordyne ART test pipes $550
-Install HKS knockoff exhaust 450

Parts: <$3000
Labor: <$2500
Tuning: <$1000

You're looking at about 310whp/280wtq w an 8k redline.

You should have close to 2.5k, depending on how frugal you are, to put into final drive/suspension/brakes/etc.

Default 05 rev up upgrade

No need to upgrade the plenum? I heard that the Mrev2 and spacer will add about 20 HP by itself

yes, do the mrev2, spacer, and intake all at the same time. you will feel a big difference. doubt you'd gain 20.. maybe with a tune.

It changes the natural curve of the rev-up powerband. I'd def do a spacer. Mrev2 will make power sooner, but drop off towards redline. I went with the Cosworth plenum after playing with the Mrev2 and 5/16th spacer. I make 50whp more at redline w/ the Cosworth.

The JWT cams were made for the rev-up engine setup. It works with the rev-up plenum. Add some volume to it and keep the runner size/length/shape alone.

On top of the 1000 dollars I added for the tune originally? Re-read.

Yeah I dont know, im not sure if from bolt ons youll see a 75hp increase. Really, it depends on where all this goes in your powerband, it may be spread across it or more towards peak or low end. Im pretty sure i have seen some turbo kits for 4k but then again the DE (revup or non revup) have weak internals so it may not be a smart idea to go FI if this is going to be driven alot. I had a non rev up DE in my old G35 and it was a real pain to mod. Not sure about the rev ups but i think it should dyno anywhere from 235-250 whp and nothing above that. If you want to keep it simple I think you should go Mrev2, headers, R2C intake (good cone filter, needs no oiling so youre not sucking it up and slowly killing/ choking your car), the HFCs, Osiris Tune for sure, and a true dual exhaust (not the regular kind of dual) and throw in a short shifter. If you want to go hardcore and spend all 8.5k id get the cams too. Its REALLY hard to squeeze power out of these DE's since theyre well optimized from the factory.

Found this turbo kit for 5k: http://aamcompetition.com/i-4765125-...05-rev-up.html

K let's talk SC had another look at stillen and vortec they are doable in my price range but how will it affect the reliability? I also don't like the idea of having to remove the stabilizer for the stillen as well as a new hood? Any thoughts?

Id go stillen since they have a 3 year warranty lol once again, if you are doing this to a daily driver then DONT. If this is your pleasure car then go ahead.

You're not gonna get 75HP from the mods you mentioned.
What is your bottom line goal?75-100HP?
With your 8,500 budget,I think you are close to affording a single turbo system.
Momentum is a great one.
If your car is a 6MT,you should get an extra 100HP with no engine build up.

I have all those mods and more and got 271.2/262.4 on a hydro here:
http://www.xactdyno.com/

Come up with another grand and buy my motor:

You will have 320+ and bullet proof reliability.

For around $6000 you can get a complete BP kit shipped to your door with uprev, 550cc injectors and fuel pump.

You can install it yourself, as it is easy and straight forward to do, pay $800 for tuning, and you still have money left for a clutch/flywheel upgrade. This will allow you to expand down the road when you are financially able. The N/A mods listed do not allow for that.

You set your boost to 5psi or so, and make 350whp with good reliablity (assuming the tuner knows what they are doing).

Local shop just sold a slightly used Momentum ST for around $6100 - probably did not include tune though I'm not sure about that.
