Hello.. Just purchased a stock 2004 Touring 6 speed with only 14k miles. I am considering some kind of cold air intake, an intake plenum spacer, Kinetix plenum and some kind of computer chip. I'm just looking for a cheaper way to start the upgrade process without spending too much money. I have heard the a cold air intake is always where to start with a Kinetix Plenum. Does a chip do anything for this car?? Any help would be appreciated...

 

Bolt ons dont do much for these cars.. and uprev reflash ...no chip for these cars

 

Save yourself the trouble and start for saving for FI

THIS!!! You are getting solid advice here from the others. Bolt-ons cost a bunch and yeild little result for our platform. F/I is the best bang for your buck and will make the car a monster compared to most of what is out there.

Expect to about $8-10k for FI and IBFTL.

 

You could do nitrous (poor man's FI) right for $2k-3k... but then you're paying by the bottle each time. I feel comfortable calling it that because I'm a poor man, and that's my version of FI for now.
