Default noob shifting

So its been a long time since I have driven a stick and I was wondering if there is a good shift point for speed shifting (ie. shifting without using the clutch) in the 2007 350z.

whatever car you "speed shifted" before this one, just shift at the same point. all cars are created equally in regards to a proper "speed shift"

Just use the clutch, why would Nissan put in a clutch if we didn't need it? Unless you want a new transmission, go for it, but imho I wouldn't recommend it.

You're obviously a noob if you want to drive 6mt and not use the clutch. Go get a 5at and use the manual override. You can "speed shift" all day.

BTW you have 6 months to show your speed shifting skills here

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840...ons-stock.html

or face serious ridicule for speed racer wannabe nonsense.

before you speed shift all 350z's require a new torque converter, the stock slips when engaing at high rpms, therefore preventing you from speed shifting. Get a new torque converter in your z, youll be good. Also make sure you get the one for the manual transmission, common mistake. If you cant afford it just pull out the converter fuse(15amp) i believe, and youll be good for now(pulling the fuse disables it). Dont let the guys on here get you, some will give you wrong info on purpose and act like douches. Anyways good luck dude, welcome to the forum

Unless you feel like replacing the trans, just use the clutch. Also speed/slam shifting with the clutch a Z will require you to replace the trans faster than needed.

shifting without the clutch should be used in emergency situations only! (such as the deadpedal coming off and gettign lodged under the clutch, true story) or unless your a trucker in a company truck with a very heavy clutch. its good to know bad to use. listen to everyone else clutch is there for a reason.

Why on earth would you want to rape shift a vehicle with synchros?

Even when RACING I have always used the clutch. Although youtube experts think I dont lol

wow flame fest as expected. the reason I ask had nothing to do with racing. I just hear about it being done in my dads malbu that had a 3 on the floor. he clamed he never used his clutch during daily driving. I had never heard of it....so I thought I'd ask.
