Is this the motor going in?

If so, are you positive it's an RB26? Were the valve covers changed?

I just noticed... those are RB25 valve covers.

No, this is not the motor that is going in, it is just being used as mock up so I do not damage the built RB26.

Way way cool, what are you doing for electronics? Standalone? Emissions? (NJ blows about this). Where in NJ are you?

Passing inspection with this car is not going to be possible, in fact I would probably get laughed out of the building. All of the emissions components have been removed, as well as all of the original powertrain wiring. I will be using stand alone management and a custom harness. Getting the cluster to display information from RB26 sensors is very difficult and is a problem I am working around.

I was wondering how you were going to fab up your mount template, thanks for sharing and please keep it coming! Very useful ideas for future projects.

Being that you're going full standalone, why not just use an external dash ie. Pi omega, motec, aim MXL, racepack, etc.

Wow, THOSE are going to be the motor mounts? Think there will be any bad vibrations coming from those rods?

Thanks man. Making the templates and transferring them to a jig, allows you to build the final product on the table, avoiding awkward welding positions. Using rod easily allows you to establish your mounting points, which is all that is necessary to build the mount.

As far as the dash, I will be using a Racepak IQ3 dash which communicates with the Haltech ECU.

you could just use the new full stand alone Haltech that is going to be released next month. That would utilize a full stand alone as well as the stock gauges in the car.

Racepack is nice....if you have money to burn

After getting the jigs made, machining a few items, and making the plates that bolt to the engine, the final mounts were able to be fabricated.
