How much was it to get the steering wheel wrapped if you don't mind me asking? Where did you get it done?

Yeah, this would be awesome. You could even take pictures of the unused plugs on the base so we know where to plug things in! Maybe part numbers of the OEM parts, etc. Come on mang, make a strong contribution to our community. I have been wondering if this was possible because I wanted map switching!

It is not freaking rocket science. Remove the covers on the wheel there is only one hanging wire on each side, connect your switches (or only the right side if you went pre 07 and did not get radio/phone controls) same on the pedals. There is only one wire hanging on each pedal and only one place to put the switch.

I already spent the time and money and "made a strong contribution" by making the effort with no guarantee I'd have CC and shared my results.

The community now knows due to my work that they can do this. If you feel so strongly that a hand holding is needed then I suggest when you do it, you can "make a strong contribution" by taking pictures and posting them. I am not taking my functional car apart.

You are welcome.

Here is the brake switch. When the brake is off it is pushed, closing the circuit. When you hit the brake it releases opening the circuit turning cruise off. The clutch is the same deal.

How much did everything cost you (minus the tune)?

Brake switch 19.xx picked up. Clutch switch came with clutch pedal that I got to mod but it is sporadically working so I am about to go get one for 27.xx, steering wheel switches came with the steering wheel I bought to cover for 85.xx on ebay.

That is awesome dude. I would like to figure out how to get cruise on my vq... those wires are definitely not there on my s14.

although, theoretically i should be able to use the existing switches right? and i have uprev already, SO, I think I am doing this!

All the OEM pieces are cheap. Wait until you find out what the Uprev tuning costs plus you'll have to find a tuner with the code and the willingness to give it to you.

Just looked under my wheel to check things out. The cruise buttons are just plug and play. The brake switch looks incredible easy to do. Brown plug is hanging there ready for the switch, and the mounting hole is right below the brake light switch/sensor.

My question is the clutch switch. I do not see a spot like the brake area to mount it up, or any unused plugs hanging. Could the switch already be there? I also have a base 06

Thanks. Sorry to offend you. It was not intentional. I was just ribbing you a little (as I wrote "Come on mang").

I modified e30cabrio's clutch pedal assembly for him. From what i remember the only difference between the non cruise and cruise pedals are:

The Base pedal assembly uses a bolt to adjust the upper travel point of the clutch pedal, the cruise pedal has the switch in place of the bolt

I already ordered a used wheel with the buttons of ebay and ordering the brake and clutch switches right now (courtesyparts) so i'll be able to verify if a new pedal assembly is needed or not.

In the upper left corner where your clutch pedal cuts off there is a screw hole. put the clutch switch there.

I am confused. Why is it necessary for you to infer UpRev is expensive?

The license is 300 and tune is 300. That is by far per HP the cheapest power mod my car has.

A car with any real mods needs a tune. Not UpRev but something. I already had it so cruise is on my car for under 50 now plus the money I spent almost a year ago for the switches. I got my moneys worth today on a 200 mile trip where I forgot to use CC several times because I am used to not having it.

Just wanted to add to this. Nice work e30cabrio, now for my thought to the lights. I highly doubt Nissan makes different gauge clusters, but i can see them being cheap enough to not include them in the base cluster. I don't have access to a base model anymore to look, but i would order these bulbs http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...pecs%2FNEO.htm NEO4-x bulb I just changed one on my moms G35 so i know they are correct and get the high power version for $2.29. Next remove the guage cluster and install them. My bets are, you will now have cruise lights. You will probably need 2 bulbs.

If i'm wrong, your out $5. Also there shipping & handing is not overpriced. It will only be a couple $$ for the bulbs.

$600 for CC is expensive. Your thread is not about tuning, it's about adding CC, right? Nobody is disputing the fact that a modded car benefits from getting a tune. Again, your thread states that you discovered a way to add CC to a car that doesn't have one. In reality, CC was a unintended extra as a result of buying Uprev (aftermarket BS) and getting a tune (something not readily available to everyone).

I did not pay anything for CC. I took a chance at buying under 100 worth of switches and then got it.

I already had the tune. No one has to do this. I just shared what I did.

People have paid over 1000 just for cc and not gotten it ( the threads die after they post I bought all this stuff from England)

My thread is an attempt to share what I have found. If you feel I am being deceptive let me know, I will delete it.
