Z33Art V3.2 Drag Build (6.3L LS1)

Z33Art Goes Into Beast Mode
Well as many of you know my LS1/TH400 swapped 350z is a drag car and I finally made it to the track last year. Although I did decent with a best of 11.213 seconds in the 1/4 with a 1.510 second 60ft, there was a ton more left in the car. The largest issue was the car was loosing nearly 100whp above 5,000 rpm's from tuning issues and the stock intake manifold/throttlebody setup being to small for the stroked motor. For this reason my second stage of the drag build has started in order to get the car into the 9's. Before getting into the changes for this year, here are some videos from last year.

Now onto this year. The primary changes this year will be centralized around adding more power and lightening the car even further. The overall goal is to hit close to 500whp on motor alone through the parasitic TH400 (24% drivetrain loss) and get the car down from 2,812lbs to 2,700lbs or lighter. I will also be adding a 150hp shot of nitrous on top of all of this. As of this week the first portion of the build is underway which includes the addition of an Edelbrock Pro Flow XT manifold and 90mm throttlebody to get my top end horsepower back and feed more air to the stroked motor.
A Go-Pro Hero 2 HD camera has also been added to the car so I can get much better videos this season. Modifications to come are as follows:
-Skinny Front Slicks
-Velocity Stack Intake (4.5" Tubing)
-100 Octane Gas Tune
-Lightened Brackets
-Underbody Sound Deadener Removed
-Lightened Body Paneling
-Lightened Doors
-Lightweight Front Brakes
-Potentially Removing Power Steering
-Open Dump Headers

Going to start working on lightening the front end today and grinding the logo off the intake manifold. Hoping to have the manifold, valve covers and wheels sand blasted and powder coated wrinkle black later this week.
If any of you other LS swap guys are interested I have a set of 65lb Precision brand injectors for sale. Nothing wrong with them, just switching to a different size. Let me know if you're interested.

Well after working on the car yesterday I have decided I will be make a sit of Lexan side windows for the car to really save some weight on the doors. I am going to form a sheet of lexan to the stock glass and then use a router to get a perfect profile. I don't have plans to do the windshield or hatch glass yet but at least the side windows and sail windows. Once I start this process I will post some more photos.

Should be a completly differnent beast this year.. With the added power, do you have to raise the line pressure on the trans to hold the power?? Or is your trans already built?

Just got done making one of my Lexan windows for the Z. Turned out really nice! Going to make the other one tomorrow night and then start making the frame for them to mount to the door. It looks like it will be about 20-25lbs lighter per door which is a great savings!

My car is an all out drag car now so there will be no driving to the track for me. Last time I drove the car for 30+ minutes my ears were ringing. Loud is an understatement.
