That's like buying a nice cigar and not smoking it.

I guess it depends on where you live, and how much money you're willing to spend to keep your sports car looking good. Missouri does not have a winter like Montreal, or Denver for that matter. A Z simply isn't feasible in places where there is more than 5 inches of snow on the roads for more than a week at a time. Not to mention all the salt damage that would happen. A DD 350z just simply doesn't work in some places. I suppose if you live in the south, and are willing to fix all the body damage that happens to daily drivers, it would work.

IMO if you cant afford to buy a used car with under 50k Miles then you probably shouldn't be buying the car. Like others have said anything around 100k miles is just gonna lead to lots of problems down the line which is essentially going to cost you more in the long run.

Does the fiero have any problems? If it still runs fine and you can still DD it then why not save up for a little while and buy a low mileage car once you have some $$$ stored away?

I would daily drive a Z06 if I could afford it however, all I can afford is daily driving a 350Z. Cars are made to drive, not to look at. A 350Z is NOT a collector car. Drive it every chance you get. (Except for you guys that have bad winters... Put it away for that). OP: Think about the insurance also. Mine is surprisingly high and I am 31 with no tickets. Spend your money wisely and enjoy your car. It's smart to think about maintenance before you choose a higher mileage car. Don't forget tire prices...

I would have to wait a whole year more to buy a better Z and that's after I pay for all the things that would inevitably go wrong.
If money is so tight why not just get an accord or civic or someshit decent on gas?

Is it like Mad Max where you live or something? I don't understand how daily driving generates "all the body damage that happens to daily drivers".

I realize that you live in Canada and may not realize that the rest of the planet isn't a frozen wasteland , but - a Z is very practical as a daily driver 350 days out of the year in South Carolina. The 6 days that it isn't practical are during:

1) The one day a year that it might snow or be cold enough for ice on a bridge/underpass
2-4) The three days a year where there are instantaneous torrential downpours/thunderstorms and flash floods that make it unsafe to drive anything low to the ground
5) The one day a year when there are tornado force winds or a tornado
6) That one day in August each year where your car gets so hot in the sun that you can't touch the door without spontaneously combusting

I said "body damage" when I meant "cosmetic damage." But yes, daily driving causes cosmetic damage. Door hits, sun fading, rock chips, salt corrosion... and btw the majority of America has winter. I doubt many of the dd folks know what a real winter is.

Again if you live in the south and you can deal with door dings and parking lot idiots, there's no reason not to dd. But that just will not work for most of us.
