How long does a 350z clutch generally last?
I am getting a Z in June-ish, and wondering if I end up with a manual what I might be looking at for clutch life.
My budget will be 10k
So that leaves me right now with a 03 or 04 with about 80-110k miles.
Or in some cases 05 and 06's with 60k and under with reconstructed titles.
My question is, am i going to be replacing the clutch the week after I buy a older mileage Z?
For this reason I am leaning towards auto.
Some Z's I am looking at for under 10k

Unfortunately, I need a car. I have a 1986 Fiero GT now and it's a money pit. I keep dumping money into the rig to keep it alive.
I am in college and will be working over the summer to make the 10k in 3 months.
I would have to wait a whole year more to buy a better Z and that's after I pay for all the things that would inevitably go wrong.

If I end up deciding not to do it, I'll just paint my Fiero, give it new tires and wheels, maybe spruce in interior up and make that work out for a while.
Car in its current state.

Z prices in your area seem very low.Guys that advertise on Craigs many times
need the money.YOU CAN FIND SOME GOOD DEALS.
However,I'd really check e'm out.
Buying a Z with many mods may sound like a value on the surface.
True,if they are done right.
If the car was maintained,a clutch could easily last 100k.
Possibly the 04 car listed has a new clutch? How long has it been installed?
Got to think if you are talkin "Junish",this Z will be long gone.

So the Fiero is a money pit and you are a college student on a budget, but the solution is to buy another sports car that has higher than average parts/maintenence expense or... wait for it... paint the Fiero and buy new wheels and tires.
This thread hurts my feelings and makes me want to bombard it with fail and emo pics

Couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion. I have a 08 NISMO with close to 70K miles. I bought it new and it's been my DD since. I drive it EVERY chance I get.
OP, clutch wouldn't be my main concern if I were you. General maint. is where you're gonna spend the majority of your money.

Couldn't agree more. It's not a DD and it should NOT be winter driven. Kills me when I see people driving their Z in the winter.
