Default ARC Oil Cooler and Oil Temp. Questions

hey guys.....so i´m in the middle of my ARC oil cooler install on my 2005 NA 350Z (i mentioned this here to avoid confusions!!).so i have all the parts together and read a couple of thread about oil coolers and oil temp. etc.,but still have some question about it.
i´ve read many threads (here in germany) that the oil isn´t getting the right temperatur even after long distance rides (with an oil cooler attached)...which makes sence if you don´t track your car or do long autobahn runs.
since i´m not doing track days or very long autobahn runs i´m affraid that the temperatur could be too low! what i do are mostly mountain runs (black forest) and only in the summer....so this might be a "good" thing to heat up the oil.i also have the mocal thermostat, which i´ll be using with the ARC setup...this also might help to get the oil up to operating temperature!!!! but i´m still affraid that the temp. will be to low!
i´ve read a thread about the oem oil coole the 350 has and how to remove it...so might this be a good idea?since i´m not running my car in winter conditions this thing should get worthless while installing the ARC unit......right?!?!?!
but what happens with the oil temp. while your in a traffic jam ???? as far as i understood the oem oil cooler is cooled with the water running through the radiator....so this helps the oil to cool "down" while you´re at a stop.but what if you remove this part??? maybe someone knows something about these things.

Install what you have, you will be just fine. The OEM cooler is also a warmer, you want that unless you live in the desert or only track your car.

The sandwich you selected will control the oil flow to it, no need to block flow.

To echo what terra said. You are keeping the oem oil cooler/warmer and not to mention picked a sandwich plate with thermostat already, you have nothing to worry about.

if you find your oil isnt getting hot enough you can always cover the cooler with tinfoil... but you should be fine like they all said.

So does anyone know what the normal operating temp should be? No one seems to post it in any threads. I have looked here and on the manufactures specifications with little to no reliable information.

Can someone point to what the operating temperature range should be so myself and others can design their coolers to suite their climates?

I have a medium size Setrab cooler, oem warmer deleted, Mocal thermostat sandwich and large capacity oil pan (plus 2 quarts total) and run under 180 in traffic in 110 Phoenix street driving and at 140 on the freeway at speed.

I had the same concern until I got an oil temp gauge and see I am fine.

well we'll see i ordered yesterday another temp. gauge and the sensor will sit right in the oil drain plug (i have another one in the inlet oil flow of the oil cooler, which will be monitored by my Greddy informeter touch).....so i should be covered with all these informations ....now it's on to UPS to get everything to me, so i can start working again!!!

180*F is average, but since you are F/I, if you push the car on a hot day you could easily see 200*F. If you get above that you should chill till the temp comes down.

My picture is at a light in bumper to bumper traffic in 119 degree Phoenix temps.

I had gotten off the freeway a mile prior where I was cruising at 140.

so here´s what i experienced while i was driving with the finished car yesterday:
car sounds normal, no oil leaks yet (fingers crossed this will be forever like this ),
oil temperatur in oil pan (at drain plug) between 79-83 °C after driving for about 12km in 28°C ambient temp., oil cooler not covered yet and always reved to 3k rpm (car stood for about 1,5 year stored!!!). oil temp. went higher while i was driving in a 30km/h zone up to 88°C but once i could opened up again the temp. decreased pretty fast down to 80°C or so!!! so my plan will be to get some acrylic glass and cover up the have oil cooler to get the temp. up to 90-95°C or even 100°C with this driving condition and see where i should go from there. why acrylic glass i´ll do this because the oil cooler is covered up, but still visible just to show off the ARC goodness

so i made some changes to the setup since the temp was still at around 80-82°C with the acrylic glass attached and after a good ride for about 35 km in 26°C ambient temp. so i closed of the oil cooler completly with the glass and had around 85-89°C at 21°C ambient temp. so i think this should be fine, but i think it should rise once i ride the Z on the mountain course

went out yesterday for another test drive with the oil cooler fully covered and had around 88-93°C (190-200°F) at an ambient temp. of 27 °C (80°F)...again not reving over 3000rpm (the highest was once 3500rpm).so i think i will drill in some holes into the acrylic glass to get oil temp. around 85-88°C.
