Makeshift Catch Can Install & Throttle Body Coolant Delete - Idle 900rpm
Hello,
I just recently installed a makeshift catch can and bypassed the throttle body coolant and now the car idles at 900 rpm.
I purchased an inline all purpose filter from Lowes. Initially, there was an air leak from the bottom of the catch can bowl so I added silicon to close off the air leak. The idle was reduced, close to stock, and the CEL went away. But the idle still stays around 900 rpm. I performed the throttle body reset procedures and do not see any change. I am certain the direction the filter is installed is correct. What could be the issue? Is this normal with the catch can install? I would like to hear your opinions. Thank you.

Yes I disconnected the battery when I performed this mod and I did touch the throttle plate. I performed the TB relearn procedure. I will post pics later today. Thank you for the reply. I will try the relearn again and check for vacuum leaks.
