ive had CEL's in the past before.. and did the Manual diagnostic with the pedal to read and erase the code etc..

my car is tuned with Uprev and has a vortech setup..

I got a CEL..

so I did the pedal sequence to enter the diagnostic mode so I can read the code.

after I dead the pedal sequence... the light flashed 5 times slow.. and thats it and stopped..?

thats odd..? cause codes are sequences of 4 digits..
example: P0300 is a random misfire..

I had this long ago in the past before ever being tuned with Uprev or having the vortech kit..
at the time I erased it.. and never came back..

now i have this code.. and its just a 5..?

so I have no idea what this is..?

actually I already know its a Random misfire..
my mechanic says I will probably need new coils etc..
there are already new plugs in there from installing the SC kit..

I wanted to read and erase the code like I did in the past..
but when I did the Manual diagnostic using the pedal..its not the same.

when it got into diagnostic mode.. it just flashed 5 times and then stayed lit.
and does not let me delete it by keeping foot on the pedal..?

ive read and deleted codes in the past..on my own.. but now its doing something different..?

hi,

a random misfire code = P0300

to read and delete codes manually without a code reader..
there is a pedal sequence you can do while in the car.. so you can read codes.

there is a step by step sequence usung the pedal, to get your ecu in diagnostic mode..
once its there.. the CEL light will flash to let you know what code you have.

for a P0300 code.. the CEL with flash 10 times to represent the 0
then 3 times for the 3, then 10 times again for the last two 0's..

but recently.. when I did this.. it just flashed 5 times and that was it..? there are no codes of just 5.
so im asking if anyone had this before.. or knows what it is..
