I recently replaced the stock CSC unit with the HD one from Zspeed and have been having issues bleeding the system, and yes I did use the search but not much deal with the HD unit and this particular problem.

I have literally bleed it almost everyday since Sunday. Ive pumped slow, fast, and tried gravity bleeding. The slow pumping seems to work the best and it will seem nice and firm and pop back up. However, after its bled it will be fine for my commute to work but when I get done and head home I'll lose pedal to the point where the engagement is literally less than an inch from the floor. When I get home I pop the hood and theres never any loss of fluid. I can uncap the reservoir and pump slowly to get a nice firm pedal again but it wont last more than a day or so. I also have checked the clevis pin clearance at the pedal and disassembled the master cylinder for a cleaning.

Im stumped. I only ride the front up on ramps to bleed it should I jack the back up to level it out? I am also going to take the bleeder valve out and put some teflon tape on for the possibility that air is leaking in there. Other than that anyone have any experience or advice with this unit. I would really like to try everything before assuming its a defective CSC.

 

I've reverse bled my Z and my pickup and worked the first time, both times.
Ensures no air in the lines.

You need a new master cylinder most likely.

 

Musubi, I saw that video and attempted it but I couldn't get a tight enough seal around the nipple and I believe I was wasting more fluid than what was pumping in. You didn't have problems with the set up leaking?

Cuztompartz, I thought that but the master wasn't having any issue prior to switching out the csc, it was working just fine.

 

The master is getting worn out, It is leaking inside where you can't see it. Once you crack the system and the master is getting worn out it will give you issues. This is nothing new and why we came up with the Wilwood upgrade. It happens even with a stock clutch and hydraulic system.




Only other possibility is the pedal is adjustment is off.

 

Do you know if there are any specials running on the wildwood master then? If I would of known the hd csc would cause issues with my stock master I would of just got the package.

Return it and get another...looks like it's not 100% tight.

 

speaking of which, i think i need a new master aswell. recently picked up the csc for the os giken tripple that you over nighted to me month or so back. after some spirited shifting or just a hot day i loose pressure aswell. sounds like my master may be the issue aswell

 

Finding the right size tubing to go around the nipple was tough.
Curious, do you have an aftermarket clutch and fw?

It sounds like it may be worth trying the Wilwood setup.

 

Nope I still have both stock flywheel and clutch.

Yea I ordered the HD kit from Zspeed today. Hopefully it will finally cure the issues with the clutch hydraulics, it's been a huge pain.

Update: The HD master is working great, much better pedal feel. Took about 15 minutes to bleed. Pedal stiffness is night and day.
