Upgrading Cams
1st: if you dont have anything positive to contribute, keep it to yourself.
2nd: I was asking originally if it is worth it to spend the money on them?
3rd: I wanted the opinion of people that are in the forum to help the newbies.

For number 3. We have tons of times over again. Search and you won't have to ask stupid questions.
ok maybe i should rephrase that - i want the opinion of people that have cams on their Z and I am asking if they feel any nice gain from them? I can look at numbers all day but I would rather ask people that have it first

But since you don't listen, the answer to your question is no. If the numbers suck when cams were added, what else would you need to see that they aren't worth it?
Don't worry 350zballin, this forum is full of jerks and sarcastic *******s that provide no useful information, don't take it personally. Sorry I can't answer your question from personal experience, just thought i'd try and make you feel a bit better
want a pretty simple answer since im in a good mood today?
no you wont make ****, and you definitely WILL NOT feel it, cams dont actually make power they simply shift where its made in the curve, EVERY cam for the vq right shifts the curve so your car will FEEL slower. it might be slightly faster but you will not feel it and for the cost to do them you will be severely disappointed. its been said over a million times, if you want your car to go/feel faster go FI if you have another DD, if you dont have another DD swap out the car for something else thats faster stock.
oh yah btw NA or FI dosnt matter either since you dint specifiy, FI is going to show a bigger increase at the same boost level if the induction system can handle it so if the car feels slower FI(which pretty much everyone has reported, and since stock cams can handle at least 600 to the wheels), its going to make the car feel even slower NA since you have less gains but the power band is still going to have the same right shift.

How so? He asked if cams were worth it for a DD. Is it worth spending what, close to 2k just to have cams in the car, I don't think it is. Otherwise, everyone and their mother would be doing them. But for the most part, you only see the built FI and the built NA guys doing it. Very rarely do you have someone spend the money to just have cams on a VQ.
Like I have previously posted a few times, a simple search would have answered all of his questions. I mean sht, even the NA Builds sub-forum has all the info he needs. I was just in there before posting this.

^+1 I agree, alone cams wont help but with the right supporting mods large gains can be made. As someone already pointed out cams will shift the power band to some place diff so be sure to keep that in mind if you do decide to get them, this will determine how "fast" the car feels once they are in.
When I opened up my engine for a re-build, I slapped in a set of JWT C2 + valve springs. Then I waited a couple more months to save up for a set of headers and piggyback and tune. Since powerband has shifted higher, I decided to change my final drive to a shorter one. The results made me happy.
At the track, my Z would keep on pulling till redline. My Z is an AT and I manage to keep a fully bolted up and tuned M/T 370Z behind me on the straight sections of the circuit during track days.
DD: it is fine. Only problem is , since you have lost some power on the lower RPM, slower cars seem to pick up from a deadstop easier than your Z lol. After 3k, the VQ comes to life.
Bottomline is, you can't just simply install a set of cams and call it a day. Just like the rest of the guys said - supporting mods are needed to make it work.
I would say you need to have plenum spacer, headers, HFC/TP's and tune at least.
