LSD Phantom Grip
So, I have been looking at a few LSD's for my Z.
I have found some for 800-1200 for 2 way LSD. Nismo, and Tomei (2way)
Today i stumbled upon a new brand called "Phantom Grip" LSD's are going for 349.99. I was wondering if anyone had experience with these LSD's? I was really thinking about going for tomei because theyre $300 cheaper. But an LSD for 349?! it's absurd, just wondering about the quality vs the bigger guys tomei, Nismo.

The phantom grip wedges itself between the spider gear faces in an attempt to lock the spiders from turning.
The problem with this design is the spider faces are not a large enough surface area (or correct frictional surface) to hold the torque of the driveline.
The system may work for a while but will cause the faces of the spiders to wear out and instances of chipping or breaking of the spider gears has occurred. When this happens you can expect to be replacing the ring and pinion as well.
In short an oem viscous is a better option in this price range, else keep saving your $ for a clutch LSD or Quaife diff.
