Default a new path

hey guys. so i have a 2005 base with momentume turbo kit, hearders and exhaust. act stage 1 clutch and steet light flywheel. ive been boosted for over a year now and as i race on circut i keep getting beat by gtr. im curious if i can make my vq shut them up for half the price the pay for thier car. i currently make 425whp/426tq. im thinking a 3.8 or 4.0 sleeved. but for the price would it be cheaper to just swap or do something crazy like bore and sleeve. im just currious just helpful info or point me to a thread i must have overlooked would be helpful. thanks guys

You can but it will always be effortless on thier part...

Save yourself grief and enjoy having your Z on par with the likes of a GTR!

personally i dont like how easy the gtr is to drive =/ it makes horrid drivers look good. honestly bro that should be roughly the same power as a 09 gtr at the wheels(unless the dyno you where on was reading high) and you have them with weight. you would definitely need a upgraded suspension to compete, and lightweight wheels are a must(idk what you have now) other then that would def be seat time.

the gtr has alot of electronics that pretty much let the car drive itself and correct for poor driving skill =/

You're going to need a pretty sick suspension and tire setup. You have to be able to make up for their awd as they can get on the power much earlier in the turn than you can. Plus like other posters said the car does drive itself, but you can compete with them if you can put the power down earlier.

SPL suspension, everything they sell. The OS Giken diff, a set of R6 tires and seat time. That kind of HP you have is already enough.

what do you consider "half" of a gtr? you talking the new 109k$ or an 09 that you can buy for 50k?

With my build for power I have probably 30k in just parts alone plus the cost of the car (and then labor if you can't build engines yourself) therefore I could easily have an 09 gtr plus some upgrades for what I have in my car and mine doesn't have a sick suspension setup for track racing.

Honestly, a sick track setup for our cars will be more than half the cost of a used gtr. I would just take more driving courses, invest in nice tires and save the rest of the money.
