Arrow Transmission Identification Without Sticker

Looking into buying a transmission locally but the sticker is gone. The VIN is still on there which told me it came from a 2005 G35. Is there any other way of telling which version it is without the sticker? Also, is there a "transmission guide" to tell which versions came from which years?

I heard G35s weren't plagued with bad synchros; if that's true, is any G35 transmission better than an '03 Z transmission?

35th Aniv probably has CD009 from the factory. My 05 Track (which is rev-up, of course) was pre-ordered from Nissan. It has a CD009, which is original to the car. Both the 35th AE and Track models weren't released until later in the model year, if I recall correctly.

Without an actual identifying tag, the most informed way to do this is by build date. Find the earliest built car that came with a CD009 and this should be a good guideline. FYI, my Track has a 12/04 build date.

I've been reading that too. I wonder if there's a way to tell the difference without having them side by side.

2004 transmission, notice only one open space in the shifter bracket.

06 transmission, note 2 holes.

I noticed the difference while looking at transmissions on craigslist, as I am in the process of sourcing one for my non-350z related project. Hope this info helps someone.

That does help, thanks! I see the 2006 is CD009; do you know the code to the 2004 that's pictured by chance?

Like everybody else said, go with a CD-009. That way you know the synchros are solid for sure.
