What is the stated compression ratio, from nismo, with this head?

I don't know if Nismo has put out the stated CR, but I come out to 12.6:1 with a 46cc chamber in them. This is using the engine volume of 3,498 cc. I don't know what the piston top is shaped like, but the Nismo head will definitely be between 12.4 and 12.7 to 1.

Would the stock pistons have to be changed. And with compression that high. Would you have to switch to race gas. I am sure the ECU would have to be flashed.

You might be able to get away with ecu tuning but I doubt it will run on 93 octane. You might be able to get away with a N/A alchohol/water injection system. Those can be bought for 200 dollars. I think I have a link at my website, one sec. http://www.racetep.com/wik.html $300 dollars my bad. Good price though.

93 or 94 octane could run a 12:1 engine - I would run it on 100 though to be on the safe side

It is already hard for some of ou 350z with bolt-ons trying not to lean out too much. Some of you'll are getting 14:1 air/fuel ratios. That is pretty high, I doubt you can run street gas.

I haven't read it yet, but a magazine that i just picked up has an article that talks about injector sizes. It asks the question does your car have the correct injectors for the target hp you are trying to achieve?

Could this be a question/step that some are neglecting to address?

I don't know does no someone who has lots of power on stock injectors. You might be able to get away with a high flow fuel pump with the increased compression. I don't think you need bigger injectors.

I'll read the article about the injectors and post some info on what it has to say.

"Nissan Motorsports just released a new head which has the VQ30DE chamber volume but the VQ35DE ports and titanium valves which raises the compression ratio to 12:1 if you’re interested in building a naturally aspirated Maxima."

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Wait, so wouldn't this mean that, as you stated before, the VQ30 head would do this on a VQ35 engine? If so, has anyone tried fitting a VQ30 head onto the VQ35 block and if so does it fit? What other problems except fitting might I run into if I try this? For example, let's say it fits on perfectly, can I blow my motor if I turn it on due to some other problem? lol sorry i know that sounds like a stupid question.

You might crack a piston because of the high compression. You might want to run some race gas before you have a chance to tune it. Then after you get it tuned you might be able to run 93 or 94 octane. There are 2 maximas going to do it in about a month.

DON'T BUY NISMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go find a VQ30 from a maxima at a junkyard then switch them out. 200 dollars from junkyard, 500 for port and polish and 200 for 3 angle valve job. If you can find the titanium valves from a Q45, them them son of bitches in there too. Cost 1/3 to 1/2 the price.

Okay even with tuning would I be able to run the car on 91 octane? By swapping the VQ30 head in, won't I lose the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control. Also can you explain what you mean by 3 angle valve job and would I be using the valves from the vq30 or vq35? Also while I'm in there shouldn't I swap to better springs and cams?

Let's say I swap the VQ30 head in after getting it ported and polished, get the valve job done, swap in new springs and retainers, get the ecu reflashed and redline extended to 7100, swap in some JWT cams, how much wheel hp am I looking at?

The VQ30 heads do not flow as well as the VQ35 heads do. The VQ35 heads stock are close to what these RZZ heads will flow, but the VQ30 will not come close to these NISMO heads. This swap will also require the front chain cover to be replaced and yes, you will lose the CVTCC system on the VQ35. Second, the wiping pad on the VQ30 buckets are not as large as the what can fit on the VQ35 or the RZZ, which is a damn good reason why the Formula Nissan series do not use ported VQ30 heads on the VQ30 blocks when they rev to 10,000 rpm. Food for thought.
