Talking NEW PART for Non-US Z's!

For those of you who want to use your OE air box with a K&N Drop In Filter or a NISMO Drop In Filter or even the JWT Pop Charger this part is for you!

It is the OE Air Duct tube off of the US Spec 350Z's. It is considerably larger then the non US-Spec duct and will alow for more air flow to the OE Filter Housing.

US Spec Air-Duct

Wow, so the non-US Zs have a smaller air duct than the US spec? Even the JDM spec?

Yes, if I recalled correctly.

I took mine out a long time ago. Neither one of those is as big as no duct. It isn't like it's ducting from anywhere. Pressure pushes all the air into the hole anyways. That piece is a restrictive air silencer designed to be used with the airbox. Those of you with an airbox take that out. Listen to the sound when you get on it. Old men wouldn't approve. Just remove it!

Granted, now that I have a Popcharger, I had to fabricate a bracket for the heat shield.

Seriously though, granted the removal of the air duct does widen the air inlet, but it appears that the air duct would allow a better more direct flow to the stock intake. It appears that with the inlet removed, the air flow would be more turbulent?

hehe.. i think you have too much time on your hands mr flyby,

when air looses direction it creates more noise in most cases...

I agree it is probably better for performance for the stock intake. I would remove it for a Popcharger if you can make a bracket (not hard).

I've been trying to get the Mines version (which I suspect is a copy of the US one) for a long time now but they just don't have stock.

I'd buy this instead except it costs more than the Mines and for the difference I think it'll make I can wait.

are you talking about the part that goes through the bumper? why would you buy a replacement for the factory piece behind the bumper?

The piece you removed? Yes. As for why see above. The US version is much larger. I've seen claims of a 2hp difference and for the price I figured why not. I don't want a pod filter so this and a better drop in is the next best thing.

the mines virsion is what goes though the front bumper...

im working on a way to get mines parts...

The mines air duct goes though the front bumper...

and then there is a smaller piece to go from that piece to the front of this piece...

Mines also make an exact duplicate of that part (or sell the US one as their own). It's shown at:
