Even an SC is not giving massive torque right now for the amount of HP that it puts out. Only thing that is putting out big torque is probably a TT. Other than that, buy a small block.

In my opinion, I don't agree with Paul Walke... uh I mean Fly By Z :P.
Hey! I don't have NO2 either. I was just answering the question. I am leaning more and more to Vortech.... or a TS tuned Procharger. Damn.

I like the vortech as well. I'm still in love with the idea of slapping a TT on the back of my Z though. We'll see. That's still a ways off for me.

Just meant tacky from the standpoint that it makes too much noise and requires the removal of the stock strut brace and engine cover.

Thanks for the excellent advice.

Glad this could be answered, but name one engine mod that MAKES power... and doesn't make access noise?

Quiet engine mods include:

1) Cams change sound but never is it louder than it was.
2) Heads do not make noise.
3) 99.99% of people are not going to percieve a difference in pistons (compression).
4) Until the Crawford plenum came out I had never heard an intake manifold make noise.
5) Fuel injection mods, etc. do not make the car louder.
6) Anything to cool the motor will typically not create louder noises.
7) Nitrous is quite silent.
8) Oil flow mods do not make noise (windage trays, oil pans, etc.)
9) Increasing displacement does not make noise.

There's nine quiet mods that do not create EXCESS noise. I'll leave you one to grow on for #10.

I have driven Z's with cams (both mild and wild) and nitrous and when either of them are in effect they are quite loud. So those are not good ones on your list. You are correct on the rest, as far as I know.

What about the WOO WOO!?!

I am about sick of it . . .now I have new tires so my WaaaaWaaaaWaaaa is gone, but the WOO WOO is still there.

If you guys hear from HFM or Performance Nissan or who ever has my plenum at this point please tell them to take good care of it. I need that one back when you are done so I can have this new one modified to remove the WOO.

Consequently I had someone ask if I had a blower the other day I said "Naw hommie I gots the plenum dat goes woo woo. Its like an alarm clock ya know."

It's in your head. You can hear those mods like you can hear a K&N air filter. I don't care how wild the cams are, all else being equal, the car is not louder. I have driven, raced in, raced against, slept in, cruised in, eaten lunch in, hung out around, worked on, broken down, gawked at, showed off, wrecked, and fixed cars with mods you never knew existed. It's in your head as the sound my alter but it is not louder.

BTW, thats a pretty nice pic in your sig.

Well, you see, I plan on fabricating an exhuast that sounds EXACTLY like a flatulence. Low rpms will sound like you just ate maybe 60 lbs in beans, high end will be more powerful like violently explosive diarrhea.
I know nothing about parts fabrication, which leads me to the conclusion that I will be more successful in my venture. So, how many are interested? Btw, this exclusive custom exhuast will staunch performance, making the car sluggish, slow, and generally iritable (with frequent trips to the jiffy lube).

I just like flatulance, my own that is. The best ones are usually quite noisey but very smelly but really loud ones are cool too.

Thank you all for the input!! I never expected so much response.

I've read several posts and based on the info I've read I am thinking Nismo LSD, Kinetix cats, Isidinique plenum*, and Stillen headers... in that order. Later if I really wanna get wild I'll add the Tomei cams.

*provided it gets Crawford gains without the woo.

Without the cams do you think these other mods would make it apparent to the casual observer/passenger that I changed anything?

Don't want certain people to know I'm modding my car (girlfriend, parents etc.)

I do not currently accept paypal. However, if you're the first to jump on, everything will be free of charge. Just show up at a few meets or write a review. Preferrably a foul smelling, shitty review.
As for pipe diameter, i'm thinking about a foot is good. I want people to be able to sleep in there, ya know?

You gawked at cars with mods I never knew existed? Awesome!
