Best single mod for torque
I always thought buying from the company that built the car was the way to go ( i.e. Nismo )? But did I read that right PhoenixINX you drove a Z with the nismo headers and it felt no different. I just installed the Nismo CAI and to say the least I am disappointed. What would you guys say is the best setup front to back for putting power down if money is not an issue? Including intakes and exhaust all the way through to FI
I really recommend you read around a lot more than just one post about NISMO headers. They have shown really good gains. It all depends on your other mods. There are a few available brands and Phoenix is a bit partial/biased to say the least. Use the search and read reviews. It's your best bet. As far as the NISMO cai, you are right to be disappointed. This is not indicative of all NISMO parts however. The others are quite good. They just chose the wrong manufacturer to make the CAI.
Nismo is a solid option for most parts. Your whole logic about buying from the company that makes the car doesn't really hold, since alot of Nismo parts are designed by third parties. In any case, I think it's safe to say that on an individual part basis, there is usually an option that makes a little more power than the Nismo offering, but if you go all Nismo with your Z, you should still have a solid car.

I am sorry I was not clear. I am running a special plenum, not like any other out there (well maybe one other). It was a trial to see if a thicker material would eliminate the WOO. It did not. There is only one way to eliminate the WOO that we have found and that is using the center bolts.
The normal plenum sounds good (one center bolt). The newest plenum has no noise (two center bolts). This "newest" one is going to someone who posted on this thread. You can wait on his review.
