Exclamation LOUD exhaust

I recently had a N1 exhaust installed.
Looks like this

I didn't install the test pipe as it didn't have the o2 sensor and kept the cats.

Even with the cats the car is WAYY too loud.
In the cabin it gives me a headache..

Anyone know a way to make it a bit quieter and less of a fart can? I'd like to keep the exhaust for my moneys worth.

Do cops care if its too loud?

I don't get how you don't understand that. Simple question.

I see posts of people saying how cops ticket cars that are too loud. But then again I see tons of fart cans.

Wow, that exhaust system is shitty. It doesn't have an x-pipe, so the exhaust pulses are going to be that much worse in the cabin. Those two short pipes aren't test pipes...they're for a G35 since the body is a little longer.

@Bmyles
Does the x pipe replace the mid pipes?

and the short pipes I was told by the mechanic they replace the cats after the downpipe.

I'm still learning parts of the exhaust so sorry if it comes off as stupid.

Your mechanic is borderline retarded, not joking. Did he actually look at how your stock cats are shaped. They aren't straight 8" pieces of pipe.... Anyway, look at this: http://www.conceptzperformance.com/C...08.207.132.238
See the x-pipe in the middle. It combines the two exhaust banks and helps with resonance in the cabin, among other things.

Haven't really gotten custom things done to my car since I'm fairly new at it and good reviews at yelp. But you're right new mechanic after finding that out.
Thanks for the heads up.

As for the x pipe do I have to have it custom fitted? Or will a simple magna flow x pipe fit right in.

You mention resonance in cabin. Are you talking about more of a drone and less of a fart can?

Does it reduce the sound than true duals?

You could technically have a Magnaflow x-muffler welded in to replace those front resonators, but you're still left with a cheap exhaust. If you have the money, you'd be better off getting something higher quality that doesn't need to be modified.

for now since I already got the it I'll probably have the x pipe welded in and after a couple of months ill switch to the real thing. 700+ with bills aren't easy to rack up

Buncha pieces there.I'd like to see it mounted under the car.
Lesson learned, these companies post a great looking pic.People
are visually driven by what the "package" looks like.
Looks like you are asking how to salvage this system...quiet it down.
Of course,a X pipe would help.I'd be inclined to just take to a mufflet shop and see if they could cut out a portion of the pipes and weld in some resonators that will
fit.

+1... get what you pay for.
Edit: I bought mine $500 used but quality is there or pay the same price for a "new" one with less to no quailty.... I went with used and no regrets.

Maybe you learned your lesson after this purchase.

If it is loud, you have a good possibility to get pulled over in SoCal.

If you have ANY exhaust that doesn't look stock, you have a good chance of being pulled over in SoCal, especially driving a "sports car" like a 350Z. I don't even have front window tint because I don't want to give CHP/local police a reason to pull me over and I don't want to argue the 70% law.

That's the thing though. You're in LA cops there are more crap there imo. Down in orange county I see people with loud a$$ exhausts all over the place.

I was thinking of getting a magnaflow X pipe muffler welded in. As it removes droning.
My question is. Will it get louder replacing the resonators (after the cats) for them? People say it makes it quieter but Don't resonators do the same thing.

No. Cops know that you drive a 350Z and are cool. They will let you slide.
