Default ECU reset and timing advance.

Hi all!

I had the shop bump my timing +2. I want to try resetting my ECU, but am concerned that the timing will revert to normal. I dont have a 7000$ consult 2 so of course I dont want this to happen.

how about it? If I reset ECU will timing go back to stock?

Default No.. go ahead and reset...

You can use the Consult to clear the self learn memory or leave your battery disconnected for a couple of hours... Does not impact the timing change...

Anyone know if disconnecting the battery will erase the homelink programming?

I had my battery disconnected for 10 hours when I installed my seat covers, homelink still worked.

I mean what exactly do you do ask a nissan tech to grab a consult 2 and tell them to advance you timing, BUT if you were running FI wouldnt you want them to retard the timing.......

I dont know i have a hard enough time when i go in there to have them reset my SES for that DAMN GAS PRESSURE CODE......

I don't suppose anyone can list the exact procedure the tech has to do to advance the timing? My tech can't figure out how to do it.

Also, will the 2 deg advance benefit an engine running the Crawford Plenum only?

It's probably ok to do it with a plenum but that is just going to bring you that much closer to pinging. I had mine advanced but returned to stock timing since the power gain was hardly noticeable and with more mods I don't want any detonation.

Do not advance your timing. TRUST ME. You will make better power with stock timing .

This is your free tip of the day.

You are all welcome!

ITs not something you can do without the 7000$ interface. With the consult 2 its simple. Without.... forget it!
