After I got my cams installed, I advanced the timing 2 degrees, and I have never had any knock. My tuner did 70+ pulls, and was listening the entire time with head phones, and there was never any sort of detonation!!!

Vandy & Phoenix,

How many degrees did doug advance his timing, and did he do via the consult or did he do via technosquare? Because a two degree advance is pretty minimal. The stock ecu allows us to advance timing up three degrees and retard up to four with the consult.

LEAVE THE TIMING ALONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE let technosqaure do it. I have lost power when the timing was screwed with for my JWT cams when it was not done right.

Thanks Glen

I think the reason why I have never had a problem is because I have the stock cats on. High flows or test pipes are making the cars run much leaner and advancing the timing doesnt make for a good combination!!
