Vehicle speed sensor question
Ok so I know you guys get this question a million times but bare
with me. I'm thinking about buying a speedo corrector (speedodrs). I've emailed them asking if it would work for my 07 z and they said that as long as it's a 3 wire Hall effect sensor then it would work. My question is, do our cars have the 3 wire sensor like most cars? And if it does , would splicing in to the wires on the white box under the radio work or should I go directly to the gauge cluster? Thanks

The white box under the radio is for the HVAC, at least AFAIK. What gave you a different idea?
Also, there is one speed sensor on each wheel, and nothing on the driveshaft or pumpkin (as with some other cars). How would you know which sensor to use? And, if you did tap into one of those, you would screw up the ABS and TCS/VDC (if applicable to your car).

I drove my car once with the waterfall disassembled, and all the gauges worked fine. So, unless the install was just looking for a switched 12V+ source, or perhaps a source of switched power for illumination, I can't think of any reason to mess with that ribbon cable.
I would think the signal has to be changed between the computer that handles ABS/TCS/VDC and the gauge cluster. If only one wheel speed sensor was altered it would throw off the computer.
He must be rolling 25's for it to be that big of a concern. And how can it mess up his mileage? A larger wheel/tire would result in the odometer reading less miles. Is that really an issue for you OP? I am assuming ( and hoping ) that you are not referring to gas mileage.....

It's on the white box under the radio. If you unplug it, ac won't work. They used it to get the speedo reading and also 12v
Don't have the money right now to get all 4 new tires considering they only have a few months in anyways. Yes I will change the tires but in the mean time I would like to fix this with the speedo corrector so my odometer doesn't say I did more miles then I actually do.
Ok. Well I bought the corrector anyways and it should be arriving soon. I will try to hook it up and report back. I haven't seen anyone attempt this on a 350z yet (atleast I didn't find anyone on the forum so this should be interesting)
