Pressure plate damage
sup guys, I got a JWT setup from a member and it was damaged during shipping. The disc is toast, but can this pressure plate be salvaged? Its got a few dings on the inner rim, as you can see in the pic. Nothing too bad. Can I sand it or file it down smooth again and just get a new disc or would it be too risky and be better off just getting new. thanks
That's what I was thinking. but one of the mounting ears could be bent or something. Who knows what all happened to it. If half of the package was damaged and that has damage on it too I would claim it all with the shipper and get something brand new.
yea I have been refunded. the flywheel survived so thats cool. I was thinking the same thing dcains, as long as the top surface is smooth I should be ok. From what I can tell the ears are not bent at all. I'll put it on a flat surface and see...I can get a clutch disc for around $160, so I may be able to make it work. One question I had is, I am going to be putting the clutch and flywheel on when I pull the engine for my TT install. From what I understand, the clutch needs to be properly broke in. Will it be ok for the tune? and then after that I just baby it for about a thousand miles? I dont want it to blow up on the dyno haha
