Default Valve Cover Gasket

Hey everyone!
I am getting my valve cover gaskets replaced and the shop told me I need new valve covers because oil is leaking through the spark plug areas. I know there are gaskets or covers for those areas. Am I correct with my statement? I looked in the Haynes book and saw spark plug covers then I checked here on the forum and saw them. Now are they trying to get me or am I wrong? Thanks in advance!!

the spark plug seals are not replaceable as a factory part. So they are telling you the truth. But, you can cut them out and use maxima seals.

Service shops are not going to do that for you.

Do a search!

I had a leak there as well and bought replaced covers from Courtesy for $215 each.Yes, you will have to buy the covers to get the seals.
