I have a Yellow 2005 350Z base model - Manual Transmission. I just bought it a few months ago and its been fine. It has about 42000 miles on it. The following problem has happened a few times and I dont know what it is.

Sometimes when I start the car it has no power, it will not go over 1500 RPM even if I put my foot to the floor. The Check Engine Light comes on. I have to turn the car of and re-crank it multiple times then it will be fine and start normally. After a few days the check engine light goes off. Sometimes it wont do it for a couple weeks sometimes itll be a month or more before it happens.

Please tell me whats wrong if any of you have had this problem. Im new to this whole thing and I just want to take it and get it fixed.

Can you pull the error codes(s) and post them here?

 

Im sorry for such a noob question, but how do I do that?

 

Go to your nearest auto parts store and ask them to read codes for your car.

 

The Check engine light has gone off now, will the code still come up or do I need to wait until it happens again?

 

i am thinking vacuum leak and the car is going into limp mode
