Default Cost to replace a clutch?

So I let a buddy of mine drive my car...pretty much burned up the clutch pretty bad. I can still drive it but it just smells pretty bad and the engagement point has changed now. I'm at 73k miles on my 06. Everyone I've talked to has said that the clutch is gone and I should just replace it. So I've looked at some different clutches and narrowed it down to the Exedy Stage 1 organic clutch (OEM like) or the JWT clutch. My buddy who has restored a 280z told me it will cost around $3,000 to get my clutch changed out. That seems ridiculously excessive to me. What's a normal price to have a clutch changed out? Also, if I only track my Z maybe 5x a year should I just go with the Exedy clutch? Thanks in advance!

1. go with the jwt clutch kit.
2.make your friend pay for it or at least help out worth the cost.
3.3,000$ for a church replacement? Dealers don't even charge that much.I wouldn't spend more than 500$ at best but that's why I would try and do it myself work a friend if I were you unless you have absolutely no mechanical skill at all.

$3,000...not sure what clutch job that is for but go with the JWT flywheel and clutch package...

I paid around $700 for the package and $700 for removal and install of the JWT (that I purchased) back in 2008. Make your friend pay for a portion and don't feel bad - I'm working on my 4th clutch.

haha I actually replaced those right before I went!!! So I drove first at the drag strip because he had never gone so I let him ride with me then the second time I let him drive. I have no idea what he was doing but he was redlining the crap out of it in all five gears and he was only going 40mph at the end. I'm not sure if he was trying to power shift or if he riding the clutch or what he did. The clutch smelled horrible after though and still does. It drives okay but it's definitely not the same as it was before! I don't think I'm going to bill him for anything. He felt awful after and I'm in his wedding later!

I would charge around $300 to change a 350z clutch. I would assume a shop would be double that(no parts)
