Default Ecu reset after mods..needed or no?

Whats up guys, I have read all the posts about how to do ecu reset's and the many ways you can do them. The previous owner installed a kinetix intake manifold and a gismo cai, and since I've had the car (about a year) i have installed a billy boat exhaust (5 months ago) and today I'm installing a megan racing y pipe. To my knowledge the previous owner never tuned the car after installing the manifold, and i diddnt tune or reset the ecu after installing the exhaust. My question is after installing the y pipe this afternoon should i do a ecu reset? (unplug neg battery for 24 hrs or is there a better way to do it?)

jk, you prob already running lean and at the limits of what the stock tune can correct. You better off just getting a real tune IMHO

I have a pioneer head unit so I'm fine with reprograming it, do you know if the unplugging battery for 24 hrs method works?

Really trav? Lol
I did the pedal one on my first try.

The "pedal dance" is the one that i would recommend. The unplugging the battery one doesn't really work on resetting the ecu, or so I've been told.

1. Ignition "ON", count to 3.
2. Depress/Release pedal 5 times...hard and fast.
3. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedal
4. Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedal
5. Count to 10, depress pedal
6. Count to 10, release pedal.
7. Turn off ignition, then start engine.

This look about right?

if your timming sucks, just uplug the battery and the ecu, tap the terminals to discharge and let it sit for an hour or so...that will do a full reset

That should be the process and what I highly recommend doing over the battery one. The guy who told me it doesn't work seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy, also is the same person I bought my p&p plenums and spacer from. And I asked if I should reset using the battery and he said no because it doesn't reset the ecu parameters.

Could be wrong but is rather be safe than sorry
