Hey all,
Does anyone know if the 2007 nismo diff will fit a 2004 base 6mt? I know it will physically mount to the subframe but not sure if the stubs are same or not? Any input woudl be appreciated.
Also has anyone thermocoupled their diff with and w/o the cooling fin cover to see if there is a notable difference to justify the cost?

There are several types of lsd's clutch being one, viscous being another, Torsten (geared), electronic, etc...
So you saying just an lsd is not really answering my question. I'm not familiar with the nismo line. I did some searching on Nissan courtesy parts and I can't find a diff with clutch plates so I guess the nismo one is the standard vlsd, unless someone can chime in and say otherwise.
Lsd = limited slip differential.

That diff you posted is exactly what's confusing me. It's branded as a nismo diff but im not sure if it's an aftermarket bit or if it came with the car stock.

Just talked to someone over at Z1 (great customer service) and it is not a stock item. Clutch type lsd was never offered by Nissan, just the vlsd and the open diff. Hopefully next time someone has this issue they can reference this thread.
Thanks for your help as well!

I thought this was common knowledge? I came late to the party.

All the Nissan factory 350Z LSD's are VLSD. Same goes for the Z32, the Z31 had the VLSD only in the 88 "SS" (aka "SE" aka "Shiro" aka "White") model and the 87.5-89 Z31 turbo cars came with a CLSD. All the VSLD's use unequal length stub axles due to the way they work. CLSD's and opens use equal length stub axles.
