Default 04 350z 5th gear grinds

Hello all, i have research and i understand that the 03 had tranny issues with the synchro. My question is does the 04 also have this issue? And is what im experiencing related the the issue?

Ok so this is basically whats happening. A few months back, at the beginning of fall, i started having squeaky clutch. So i spray some white lithium grease into the tiny clutch boot area. And squeak gone. Drove it for a few months, no problem.

Just last month, i started having a grinding problem. Basically when i start the car let of the clutch, buckle up, clutch in and try to put it into reverse i get a grind. So basically i have to clutch in wait a sec then attempt to back up. While driving, before the car is fully warms up, i have the same issue trying to shift into 5th, it grinds. Once the car is warmed and ready to go no issues what so ever. Only way i can shift into 5th without the grind is if i clutch it, waits like a sec. Then put it into 5th.

Any idea or suggestions? Time to save for a cd009?

anything that's not CD009 or CD00A(supercedes CD009) have weak synchro. I'm not a Nissan mech, but through my recent experience with my tranny breaking down on me, it sounds like your 5th fork is getting weak and your master clutch cylinder may be going out. Next time try to double clutch going into reverse or even on to 5th. and also try avoiding high RPM gear changes (try to keep the gear changing sequence to around 2.5-3k rpm). If and when your tranny breaks down.. I'd recommend you look for a CD009 tranny instead of a rebuild. Rebuild will cost almost the same amount as a used CD009 and there is no guarantee that your rebuilt tranny will NOT break down in the future.
