Default Transmission or shifter re alignment ?

Tried searching for this but with no luck on exactly what to call this problem. My car is the 06 Z base model.

Problem- All gears shift just fine but shifting feels sloppy to me. Especially going from 2nd to 3rd it feels like it doesn't go straight in gear. Feels notched ?
Is there something a previous owner could have done like slam the shifter into and dented or notched the shift guide?

Like I said not sure how to describe it. Hoping someone knows what I'm talking about or a solution .

Im not sure if these things have shifter bushings or not but they could be worn, Also, check the fluid level, low fluid can cause exactly what you are describing!
Worst case may be damaged syncros which would require a rebuild..

I was planning on buying a short throw shifter anyways and it comes with all new bushings and bearings. I may just go ahead and do that and see if it helps. I didn't know if 06s had any common transmission problems like I've heard the older models do.

Short shifters just make everything worse, they are known for problems on this car.

They are?

I've had my TWM shifter for a while now (I don't remember when I replaced it) and it has never given me a problem. I love it other than I picked a gunmetal gray stainless shift ****. That thing gets frickin hot in the summer time.
