Default Stuck in hot traffic - heat soaked poor performance

This may be a no-brainer, but as the title states, is this the true feeling of heat soak and loss of performance?

I was stuck in San Jose to walnut creek traffic, known for being a real gridlock. After the traffic opened up, I accelerate and notice that take off was sluggish.

Your comments and thoughts are appreciated.

If it was hot air injestion, it will go away after 10 seconds or so once you start moving. What intake is on the car?
