Default A/C tensioner bracket bolt??

Well, I ended up buying a 04 Z over the weekend for a really good deal! $2500 bucks and all it needs is an alternator and a few other dumb things. Stoked to say the least lol.

But anyways I replaced the alternator and then decided to replace both belts while I was down there. While I was removing the A/c belt the tensioner bolt snapped

It seems like something that you should be able to replace, but when I call Nissan they have no idea what I'm talking about. It's the long bolt that goes into the tensioner. I do not want to buy the entire bracket w/ bolt for 150+ dollars if I can help it.

I called my local dealership first, and they couldn't pull up anything. I called another and he was some how able to find a bolt that matched my description. Unfortunately the actual description for the bolt in their system is "bolt" lol. So he can't verify for sure if it's the right one. I'm going to head to nissan when I get a chance and look at the picture that comes up with that part number. But I was wondering if anyone has ever broke this bolt, or knows the proper part number for it? Here's the one I was given:

11916-OW003

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great

Funny I was just on this site, but I don't know which one is it. The descriptions aren't too detailed. And the link you gave me is just a list of "tensioner bolts" but none specify the a/c tensioner bolt. Also, I don't if it's my computer but whenever I click on the illustration link it sends me to another part of the site.

I found a part number for the tensioner bolt on for the alternator belt on another thread. 11914-AL50A (I think)

Not sure if that part # will help

But by looking at these pictures the bolt I need isn't there. It's the super long one that adjusts the tension on the belt. The only ones I'm seeing here are the bolts that attach the the pulleys to the bracket and so on.

Where is the bolt for the tensioner though Trav?

All the bolts there are for mounting everything. The actual tension bolt isn't there though. Which leads me to believe you have to purchase the tensioner to get the bolt...

The bolt I'm referring to doesn't mount horizontally. It's goes in vertically.

Yeah man...it is sure seeming that way...not cool

I tell ya, there seem to be a lot of quarks with these cars lol! First you have to replace the whole valve cover when replace valve cover gaskets. Ya can't get a tensioner bolt from the dealer, crappy window motors, bad timing chain tensioners. What did I just get myself into

In all seriousness though, this car is fun as heck to drive and I'm happy with my purchase. Just praying I can get this car fixed without having to spend and arm and a leg...

Yeah, seriously...

Thanks for the help thus far though man, appreciate it

I plan on doing quite a bit of maintenance before the winter. I actually need a little advice regarding the timing chain tensioner problems these cars have. Not sure if I should make a new thread for that. I know there are threads that have a lot of information on it, but I'm still unclear on a couple things. Do you mind if I send you a quick pm?

So turns out that you can get the tension bolt for the alternator belt tensioner, but for the a/c you will be SOL. Gotta shell out money for a whole new one now. So when you're doing your belts be insanely careful with that one because if you break it you bought it!

I wood mb disagree. If you can get both parts to an Ace Hardware you might luck out. They carry almost everthing.

Yeah, the parts guy also said I might luck out going to a hardware store. Thing is I don't have that much time, and I just want to get this car repaired asap. Spent the money on a new tensioner just to save time and a headache.

If anyone does know the correct size, and thread pitch post up so other people don't have to 150 bucks just for breaking one bolt!
