Default No oil pressure, Please help!

Hi guys, Just put a build DE in my car with a rev up oil pump. Trying to prime the engine with the starter (crank and injector harness disconnected), and I'm not getting any oil at the oil filter housing when I pull of the filter. Im cranking it for 15 seconds at a time and have done so 5 times, getting a little worried now. I did not prime the pump before installing it, but seems to me there was no problem with installing them dry. Also wondering if I've got too thick of oil and that may be why, because the engine builder told me to use 15w40 for break in. Please help!

Thank you.

Update: I've pulled the oil pan, I'm correct in that the pump has not pulled any oil . Had my dad put his thumb over the pump inlet while I turn over th engine, there is no suction. Hoping this is because it's dry but really worried I've got a faulty pump, though it is a brand new oem rev up from czp. I've now filled it with grease and I'm hoping it will work, but I have my doubts..

Update 2: Filling the pump with grease worked! Heads up to anyone installing these, I read on many threads that priming the pump wasn't needed, that may be true in some cases, but definitely not in mine, priming is a must, just do it!
