Default Only $1k for clutch replacement?

I have a 2006 350z, and I'm being quoted $1k for a local shop to replace my clutch. He says this does not include flywheel - he will have to check it's condition to see if I need to replace that. I realize the flywheel will be much pricier due to it being dual mass, but does $1k for clutch + labor make sense? I thought the OEM clutch was pricier than that? I just want to make sure he's doing the OEM and not an aftermarket clutch.

Aftermarket clutch might be better. Check out ZSpeed, Z1, etc for options.

The OE flywheel is dual mass and can't be machined. Generally its not a good idea to slap a new clutch disk on a flywheel that hasn't been machined, can cause the clutch not to seat properly resulting in slip. You're best off buying a new flywheel, which is pricier than hell, thats why I went with an aftermarket kit when I did mine, 700$ for the full JWT kit, and is perfectly daily-able, But a lighweight single mass flywheel isn't for everyone.

Clutch kit is about $300, so it sounds about right. The FW is the only expensive part of the ordeal. Labor is cake on these cars, about 5 hours. Not bad at all.
