What modifications do you have done to the engine / car?

If it was me - considering the oil consumption, valve leakage, (relatively) high mileage, and compression discrepancy I'd go straight to a full rebuild or swap.

The VQ35DE (revup or standard) have self-adjusting valves and usually don't need any kind of valve lash adjustment. I'd say your inspection is a sign of bigger issues and at 157K, I'd consider paying for a full assessment of the engine.
