umm both ok, the math

350z financing close to 40k
Rims and tires 3k
300 RWHP 6k

total 50k = me with a FUN car

350z 40k
rims 3k
NA 300hp 6k
Supercharger 6k
Every major drivetrain part replaced 4k

total 60k = pissed I didnt spend a few more bucks and get a porsche

Agreed, except for one thing, if you spent 60 grand on all those things you mentioned, then the power your Z will have will only be comparable to a 911 turbo. Which costs over 100k. So i don't think you would rather spend just over 60 grand on a regular 911 which will be WAY slower than the Z if you spent 60k on it.

I don't know about you, but I'm not overly concerned about the "Bling" factor. Fact is that if i pulled up to a 911 turbo with a Z that has all NA mods and a supercharger or Turbo, and I rip the 911 turbo (which costs twice as much as my car WITH mods) I'll be happy enough that my concern for bling will be nullified. Also if you happen to put on nice 19s with some good rubber, sway bars, and Tein Flex with the EDFC. that would be on pimp-*** ride. Faster than a 911 turbo. Handle as well or better than most 250k cars. Not too much more that you can want from a car. Plus its not like you have a custom civic that can do all of those things, its a 350z which is a sweet lookin ride already.

isnt it more like 35k for a Z
3k for riims
and 6k for a good supercharger properly tuned.
for...44k you get a sick sick car
total= mid to low 12second Z, with sick *** 19inch rims and wide *** tires. Outhandle almost any other car and it includes Nissan reliability w/ low insurance rates

Kind of off topic but damn your right about the insurance, I went from a STS to the Z and thought for sure my rates would go up. I actually got a $1 refund

How about that stroker kit coming out? I would assume that would add quite a bit. At least 20 to the wheels.

I recently saw a dealer in the Phoenix area selling a Stillen supercharged Z.The supercharger was 4950.00$.This seems to me to be a much easier way to get to the magic 300 hp level. The car claimed 346hp.What does everyone think about the reliablity issue?

The Stillen s/c seems kool, but the design is a bit not my taste. Cutting the hood? Or replacing the stock hood? C'mon. But I have heard good things about the Stillen S/C. Just not good things about the ATI Procharger S/C. Anyone here ran the Stillen S/C? LIke to hear your opinion about it. (Maybe this could be on a new thread)...don't want to jack up this thread...sorry...

I don't see why you'd want to spend the extra loot to be slower, but 'drive a porsche'. I've gotten MANY compliments by people comparing it to a Lexus SC430 or a Porsche, so I much rather spend 60k and have my nice SB Track running 11's and carving corners like a vette than spend an extra 'few bucks' to get an entry level 911 and get shat on by the Blown out Z. Then when both cars are at a stop.. most people wont even know what car they thinks looks better, the classic 911 or the edgy Z.

I was told that since I went with the Test Pipes that i probably would not pick up a great deal of HP with the headers, and for the cost it would not be worth it. And yes, you can feel it in the seat of you pants, my 1st dyno without the cams and test pipes I was only getting 244 rwhp at the crank and the hp fell off at 6,000 rpms, now the car pulls all the way through redline and believe it or not the car had the better pulls in 4th gear. I have spoken with Jason and Jeff at Performance Nissan and they have really got me thinking about the UR underdrive crank pulley, seems to be a great bang for the buck, then I definitely need to get Technosquare to tweek the ECU some.

Before you post... have ALL your facts right.
I understand his VQ is ported, polished, balanced and that he has done a lot of internal work. I tried searching and am having difficulty finding the dyno. Can you point me the right direction?

My car has EVERY bolt on including cams but no aftermarket plenum... PLUS ported and Polished heads and intake runner. Dyno's range from as low as 265 to a high of 270. Just had T/S spend 3 hours tuning so I will be dynoing again in a week or two... more like two.

Hey Jeff,

Give me a buzz before you do that. I want the UR Pullies this week or next week. If I don't get a response from my hook-up, I'm hoping you can do the sale and installation for me. After that, I will probably do a new dyno over at the Reseda shop and maybe we can get a few more people to get another group rate.

Thanks

You are incorrect...

No p&p... honestly we don't need it. Perhaps a tad bit on the exhaust side, but minimal to no gains there. As for boring, only .20 over to accomodate new pistons and rings. This itself will not cause any gain in HP worth noting.

As for "internal" work... who cares? Just building your internals does nothing for you, raising the CR WOULD however.

He is running stock CR on the premise of firing a large shot of NOS.

So I will point again to what I said previously you're honor... OVER 300 rwhp.

Thanks for playing.
