First up the story. I got the chance to buy a built block and Cosworth heads from a g35 for dirt cheap from a co worker. He is not positive on the year but thinks it was in a 03. Included are block, crankshaft, rods, pistons, cams and heads. Not in the cleanest condition but I am hoping it is all salvagable

This engine would be going into an 06 Automatic, so non REVUP, 350z.

Does anyone have any idea what if anything is different on this block? I was looking through Z1 and it appears there is a different timing cover for 03-04 (https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-...er-p-9232.html) and 05+ (https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-...er-p-6315.html) Is there anyway to identify what year this engine came out of?

Is there any way to identify the cams that I have? They are pretty dirty but the few markings I can see show 2 pairs of cams. Need to find out which is intake and exhaust.
Any help is appreciated.

 

De has vvt selonids on one set of cams and rev-up has two. So just look at timing covers to tell.

 

The only thing that matters is DE,Rev-up, and HR not year.
