Default need help... gotta CEL

I was driving home yesterday and i noticed i got a "Service engine soon" light come on in my dash. The light was steady (not blinking). I looked it up in the manual, and it said it has to do with an emissions problem. I have no engine mods, and i checked my gas cap and it was tight. Has anyone had this happen to them yet?

I called the dealer and they just said to bring it in, but I'm not going to have time until a couple of days. You guys think its safe to drive? She's runnin perfect, so i dont know what it could be.

thanx in advance

Go to an AutoZone or similar parts store they can check the code and make sure the self destruct mode hasn't been activated. Seriously though, they can pull the code in a few seconds and tell you what caused it.
