Default Valve cover gasket leak after fixing it

I have replaced the passenger side valve cover (once) & gasket (4 times) and it's still leaking a little. After doing it 4 times is a little frustrating that it just keeps leaking oil, so I was wandering if I was missing something when doing the VCG job? I put OE Nissan RTV (on the front) and torqued the bolts to spec (65 - 82 in-lb) with the right sequence. Any help is appreciated 👍

It's leaking between bolts 2 & 4, on the back by bolt 8 and by bolt 6 (I probably messed up the amount of RTV) I'm talking about the right bank

It's probably just a matter of squeezing the right amount of RTV in a constant bead in the right place or the gasket might be moving out of the groove and out of place. That back bolt (#8) can be a PITA. I'm assuming you're using an OEM valve cover and it's not warped or mishaped?

you are suppose to let the RTV kinda dry before torquing down. If you torque it down right away when applying it youll just squeeze practically everything out and it wont make the seal is suppose to. Also make sure that when you are about to set the valve cover on the head that the gasket is not falling out of place from the valve cover and that its not getting pinched onces its "installed". And make sure that the matting surfaces a clear of any debris.

Thanks, I will try putting a little RTV on the grooves so the gasket will surely stay in place & wait before torquing the bolts. (Although, for the amount of oil leaks the engine has, the high mileage & not knowing the maintenance it was given, I would be better saving money to buy another engine before I blow this one from all the abuse I give it &#128517
